Senior/Founding Pastor
Derek Williams is the founding and senior pastor of HighPointe Church. Since it began in 2008, HighPointe Church is known for its exciting, Christ-centered worship and focus on creating fully devoted followers of Christ.
Pastor Derek has been in full-time ministry for most of his life. He graduated in 1990 from North Central University in Minneapolis, MN with a degree in both youth ministry and pastoral studies. He is most often called by his nickname, PD (Pastor Derek). The first 19 years of ministry were spent working with youth, which explains a lot of why he acts the way he does. He has a fun sense of humor and it shows in every aspect of his ministry. His messages are practical, relevant and definitely high-energy. You won't be falling asleep here at HighPointe.

We’re so excited you decided to check us out! Our passion as a church is to provide an atmosphere where people just like you can come and have a life-changing experience with God.
One of the first things we think you will notice about HighPointe Church is the warm and friendly atmosphere. We want everyone who walks through our doors to feel at home the moment they arrive. That is why we believe you will see such a wide variety of people who attend. We open our doors to everyone, regardless of their background or where they are on their spiritual journey in life.
HighPointe is a "life-giving" church. Simply put, this means we want to impart a freshness of life and God's love into people and their families through engaging, powerful worship services that offer biblical truth in relevant and practical ways.
We're trying to work together to become the type of church described in the Bible, one where you find relevant teaching that doesn't put you to sleep, heart-felt worship, sincere friendships, constant prayer and a compassion for those in need. Basically, we want to spark a kind of contagious Christianity that influences and encourages our entire area, one life at a time.
So, whether you're new to all of this and are just starting on your spiritual journey to know more about God, or you're a committed Christian who wants to dig deeper in your faith, you can find a home here at HighPointe Church.
